Background
eProtein Discovery is a unique product for scientists doing drug discovery and target identification. The product helps to reduce time required to validate protein expression from 4-6 weeks down to 24 hours.
The problem I solved was to help a protein scientist to plan their experiment in the app and execute it using the hardware instrument without help from the staff.
My role
- Learned about the new complex domain of protein prototyping in a matter of weeks.
- Came up with the user journey and low-fidelity prototype for the MVP. That included a web UI, hardware instrument touch-screen UI, and how the user transitions between them.
- Guided a team of two designers who created high-fidelity mockups for production based on my low-fidelity ones.
- Conducted user-testing sessions with end-users to validate design ideas.
Impact
The interfaces I designed provided clarity on the deliverables for technical team, and the research results gave confidence the alpha version will be usable. This contributed to the successful launch of the alpha product and Nuclera raising additional funding ↗
